Hello. I've been teaching for 24 years and I'm still learning! I have become a primary maths specialist teacher (MaST) and NCETM accredited PD Lead, as well as long-time maths lead at my school. In September I started using the excellent White Rose Maths Small Steps and Guidance to plan maths for the Year 1 children at my school, along with the White Rose section on Craig Barton's brilliant Diagnostic Questions website. A free set of big, proportioned Numicon shapes 1 - 10 with the 10 shape being A4 size. These can be ordered on a washing line, on the carpet in a circle, independently or at the front of the class with the children making a numicon number line. They can also be used for display or copied onto a smart notebook or activprimary flipchard. This is a word document to make it easier to adapt and more flexible. I have copied and stretched images of Numicon so many times I wanted this to be the final time! I thought I’d share in case it saves anyone else the work.
